Have you recently experienced an earthquake? Discover the proximity and magnitude of the event using iFeltThat, an extensively customizable global earthquake application designed for iPhone and iPod touch users.

iFeltThat sources information directly from the official USGS channels, providing insights into microquake activities with magnitudes as low as 1.0 across most regions in the United States. Detailed earthquake listings for U.S. regions offer precise locations of seismic events, going beyond general regions like "Northern California" to specify locations such as "5 mi SE of Santa Rosa, CA." By rotating the list views, users can access region-wide maps to visualize the earthquake data. The app also showcases the number of citizen reports submitted to the USGS "Did You Feel It?" service for each event.

In addition to offering 20 region-specific event listings worldwide (refer to the support page for a complete list), iFeltThat includes a 'Nearby' feature that leverages your current location as a central point. Users can add unlimited center points from their Address Book to monitor seismic activities near family and friends, even tracking hometown earthquakes while traveling, down to a magnitude of 1.0 in the U.S. (4.5 elsewhere). Alternatively, users can set a central point based on any event location globally to monitor earthquake swarms occurring within a 500-mile radius.

Explore single-event and interactive region-wide maps presented in roadmap or satellite hybrid styles. All maps are easily navigable through pinch-zoom and drag functionalities akin to the Maps app. Quick one-touch zoom buttons in detailed maps facilitate efficient zooming in and out for convenient one-handed operation on the move. Transition seamlessly between quake details using the 'Newer' and 'Older' buttons without having to backtrack through the list.

For events with available USGS Shake Maps, a distinctive icon will be displayed in the event's detail view. By tapping this icon, users can browse the Shake Map directly within iFeltThat. Moreover, all relevant web pages, including prompt access to North American and Pacific/Indian Ocean Tsunami Warnings, are integrated within the app interface. Users can effortlessly share event information, links, and event detail screen/map screenshots via email directly from within the application.

Customize the four regions readily accessible at a tap through the bottom bar according to your preferences. For each region list, configure specific minimum magnitude thresholds and default map zoom levels.

While an initial encounter with an earthquake may have led you to iFeltThat, you will find continuous fascination in monitoring unforeseen earth movements near you and across the globe. Soon enough, you may discover yourself frequenting iFeltThat more diligently than checking weather forecasts or news updates.
